The Attributes of God

God doesn’t have a physical shape or form.
John 4: 24
“God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit, can people worship him as really
is”
2Cor 3:17
“‘The Lord is the Spirit’”
Acts 17:29
“Since we are God’s children, we should not suppose that his nature is anything
like an image of gold or silver or stone, shaped by human art and skill”
But God will appear in different physical forms to communicate with his creations. God
appeared to Moses the prophet in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush Ex3:2

He is beyond time limits; he has neither beginning nor end nor duration by way of
sequence or succession of moments. His self-existence is timeless. He himself is the
beginning and the end.
Psalm 90:2
“Before you created the hills, or brought the world in to being, you were eternally
God, and will be God forever”

the first, the last, the only God; there is no other god but me’”

made the heavens. They will disappear, but you will remain; they will all wear out like clothes
You will discard them like clothes, and they will vanish .But you are always the same, and
your life never ends. ”

God is necessarily present everywhere in space as the cause and sustainer of all creatures.
Space and time will no limit God.
Ps 139:7-10
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where shall go from your presence? If I
ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are
there. If I take wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
even there your right hand shall hold me”
Jer 23:23-24
“I am a God who is everywhere and not in on place only. No one can hide where I
cannot see him. Do you not know that I am everywhere in heaven and on Earth?”

God is all knowing, he has most perfect knowledge of all things. There is nothing he
doesn’t know.

what was in their hearts”

unlimited power.

God is unchangeable. He is unchangeable in his existence and thoughts. He is already
perfect and doesn’t need to change to be perfect or other nature.

and your life never ends”

“Every good gift and every perfect present comes from heaven; it comes down
from God, the creator of the heavenly lights, who does not change or cause
darkness by turning”

God is pure and innocent. He doesn’t like uncleanness which means sin or evil things: sin
in thought, speech or action.
All things related to God are holy: his names, his house, his angels, his prophets, his
apostles, his book, his prayers, his Sabbath etc all are holy. That is why we say “Hallowed
be thy name” when we pray.
Lev 19:2

He doesn’t keep on rebuking; he is not angry forever He does not punish us as we
deserve or repay us according to our sins and wrongs As high as the sky is above
the earth, so great is his love for those who honor him As far as the east is from
the west, so far does he remove our sins from us As a father is kind to his children,
so the LORD is kinds to those who honor him He knows what we are made of; he
remembers that we are dust his love lasts forever, and his goodness endures for
all generations”
